People, People, People was born out of my own fear of large crowds and the overwhelming feeling of losing yourself within them. Rather than portraying that fear literally, I explored it through a surreal folk-horror story about three women confronted by an ever-growing, mysterious group that seems to appear from nowhere. The film became a way for me to translate an internal anxiety into something visual and atmospheric, using unsettling imagery, sound, and symbolism to express emotions that are often difficult to put into words. More than anything, it was an exploration of how fear can quietly grow until it feels impossible to escape.
